What is Surrogacy?
Surrogacy is a form of assisted reproductive technology (ART) that involves a woman carrying and delivering a child for another couple or individual. It is a viable option for couples or individuals who are unable to conceive a child on their own. In India, surrogacy is legal and regulated by the Surrogacy (Regulation) Bill, 2019 and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) guidelines of 2021.
