MIRACLE MAKERS

The In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) market in Kolkata is experiencing a surge driven by increasing awareness, improved success rates, and a growing middle class eager to embrace family-building options. Gone are the days of hushed whispers and stigma; IVF is finding its voice in the City of Joy, with more and more fertility clinics opening their doors, says Dr. Rajeev Agarwal, IVF specialist & Medical Director at Renew Healthcare in an Industry piece by Times of India Kolkata edition, where he shares his insights along with other prominent leaders in the health space.

One key change that is leading to the growth of the market is the affordability of people to opt for IVF solutions, according to Rajeev Agarwal, IVF specialist and director – of Renew Healthcare. “Budget-friendly packages are making IVF accessible to a wider segment of the population. Gone are the days of exorbitant price tags; clinics are tailoring treatments to fit diverse financial realities,” Agarwal told TOI. “Kolkata has always been different in everything and even in the IVF sector, Kolkata, as I feel, is different from the rest of the country. IVF charges are the lowest in the country even though the success rates are high. In Bengal, there is less commercialisation of the IVF industry as we have less than 50 IVF clinics in the state. The number is higher in other states,” he said.
