Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) is an assisted reproductive technology (ART) procedure in which a single sperm is directly injected into an egg to achieve fertilization. It is typically used for couples who have male infertility issues, such as low sperm count or poor sperm motility, and is also sometimes used in cases where previous attempts at in vitro fertilization (IVF) have been unsuccessful.
